  • Great Book! Treason and Hostage are Winners! (5)
The second book in this sequel was as good or better than the first book. A story that speaks to our times and a character with the courage to face it!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves courtroom drama and has an interest in current world affairs.

  • A Heart-Pounder! Maybe Even Better Than Treason! (5)
I thought it would be hard to top Treason. But in Hostage, I think Don Brown has done just that. Don makes JAG Officer Zack Brewer the quintessential, All-American hero, puts him in the middle of a fire, and sets his readers' hearts pounding from start to finish in this firey follow-up novel to Treason. If I were young enough, I would enlist in the JAG Corps myself! I can't wait for more from Don Brown. Long live Zack Brewer!
  • Entertaining, Intellegent and Sweet (5)
This novel was written much in the same style as Don's first novel, Treason. So, if you enjoyed that one, as I did, you are pretty much guaranteed to like this one.

Like Treason, Hostage is written in short action-filled chapters. Don takes us into the disturbing minds of Islamic terrorists as they find a way to nearly launch a world war.

The stakes are even higher in this book, with both potential world-wide consequences, and a very personal one. If Zack Brewer does what his duty and conscious calls for, the love of his life will not only be executed, but die a horrible death.

    Wow. What a choice.

This novel was well written and an absolute page turner.

One of the things I like best about Don's books are the unpredictablility factor. I thought I knew how it would wrap up. The perfect hero saves the day all around. As always with Don Brown's writing, I was surprised that he didn't follow formula. The end of the book caught me off guard. Which is my favorite kind of ending.

    I recommend this book highly!
