Take a trip into the past of Grundy County, surrounding counties and states. Family trees, marriage records, directories, and much more can be found here. The genealogy section is located in the children's department (1st floor).

LIBRARY CARDS

Library cards can be issued to anyone ages 6 and up. Cards are free to anyone in Grundy County. Replacement cards are $3.00. Any card member can check out up to 15 items (per individual) which includes 2 movies (per family). Cards can be obtained by going to the library. Any card member can look up their information on our card catalog...all that is needed is your last name and card catalog number. Book renewals can be done over the phone during library hours, or you can leave a message.

FAX

Fax service is available for the patrons. The charge is $1.00 per sheet, both sending and receiving. Our fax number is 660-359-6220.

COPIES

Available to the patrons at $0.10 a copy. The copier is located in the children's section of the library.

The library also has a color copier. Color copies are $1.00 per side and $.50 per side for black and white.

INTERNET ACCESS

Internet access is available to the public during library hours with the exception of Monday evenings. Internet access for individuals 17 and under will be from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Monday evenings. Patrons 18 and over are allowed access for the full Monday through Saturday hours. An internet agreement must be signed by all patrons. Individuals 17 and younger must have their parents signature and children 10 and younger must have a parent, or guardian, accompany them on the computer. Internet agreements can be obtained at the library.

All patron computers are filtered for content. The content filter can be removed by request of the patron. Site submission can be done on each computer and web sites can be "unblocked" at the discretion of the library technician. All site activity is logged (no personal information is monitored), and patrons found abusing the library's systems will be removed from the building.

INTER-LIBRARY LOAN

We don't have what you're looking for? Another library within our inter-library loan system might. This service is free through our courier service. If your requested material is not supported by the courier, the cost is $2.50 per book for shipping. This service is hosted on the main (2nd) floor of the building.

MICRO FILM

Microfilm readers are available in the genealogy section during library hours. Materials available include local papers, court records, deeds, census (up to 1930), and much more. Copies can be made at $0.15 a copy.

LAMINATION

Lamination prices are as follows:

Wallet size: $0.20
8 1/2 x 11: $0.50
11 1/4 x 17 1/4: $1.25
Large Machine: $2.00 per yard

Please allow at least two days for us to complete the work.
